Takra is light (laghu) to digest, It balances kapha(water) and vata(Air) dosha. It is prepared by mixing 1 part of fresh yogurt and 4 part of water. It should not be too thick or too thin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Ancient text book (<strong>Bhavaprakasha) <\/strong>it is mentioned that \u201cThe person who uses takra daily does not suffer from diseases, and diseases cured by takra do not recur; just as amrita (divine nector) is for the gods, takra is to humans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Properties of Takra (Buttermilk)<\/strong><br>&#8211;<strong>Rasa (Taste):<\/strong> Astringent, sour, and sweet<br>&#8211;<strong>Virya (Potency or&nbsp;energy):<\/strong> Hot<br>&#8211;<strong>Vipaka (Post digestive effect):<\/strong> Sweet<br>&#8211;<strong>Guna (Quality):<\/strong> Binding, light, dry<br>&#8211;<strong>Prabhav (Actions):<\/strong> digestive,&nbsp;promotes immunity, pacifies vata (air).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Combination according to doshas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When Aggravation of vata (air), sour variety of Takra should be taken by adding Rock salt<\/li><li>In Pitta (fire) \u2013 Sweet Variety of Takra with sugar<\/li><li>In Kapha (Water) \u2013 unctuous (fatty\/ greasy) variety of Takra with sunthi (dry ginger powder), pippali (long pepper), Maricha (Black pepper).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Takra pacifies all the three doshas.
