Shirolepam: a classical Ayurvedic hair-care ritual<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shirolepam is a traditional scalp pack ritual described in classical Ayurvedic literature. In this ritual, a cooling herbal paste is applied to the scalp and retained for a period, usually around 45 minutes. It is a traditional wellness experience many guests find deeply relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a traditional wellness ritual. It is not a treatment for any medical condition, including any hair or scalp condition. Individual experiences vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henna: a traditional hair conditioning ritual<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Henna is a plant whose leaves have been used in traditional natural hair care for centuries. The leaves are ground, mixed into a paste and applied to the hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henna is a traditional natural colourant and conditioning ritual. It is not a treatment for any medical condition. If you are considering henna for the first time, we recommend a small patch test first. If you have any skin sensitivity or scalp condition, please consult a registered dermatologist before use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A note on product safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Please note that some commercial henna products contain additives such as PPD (paraphenylenediamine) that have been associated with allergic reactions. We encourage anyone using henna products to check ingredient labels carefully. Our centre uses natural henna preparations without such additives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traditional application<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Classical Ayurveda describes several ways henna is traditionally used in daily and seasonal routine. It is commonly combined with other traditional ingredients such as yogurt or amla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
